About

As Communications and Media Lead, Justine’s role is to identify and maximise opportunities for showcasing Scion’s extensive research, scientific expertise, collaborative projects and achievements.

Justine has an extensive communications and media background across various industries. Past roles include working as a senior media specialist at DairyNZ (primarily focused on climate change and freshwater in the regulatory space), as communications manager at the Hepatitis Foundation of New Zealand and as a print journalist and sub editor for daily and community newspapers. She also spent 12 years in local government communications teams, where she gained valuable technical writing and crisis communications experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Media Arts and a diploma in journalism. Justine is also currently completing the final paper towards a Bachelor of Applied Management.
