This custom-made chessboard features a tōtara veneer and ‘squares’ of full thickness colour wood.

The chessboard was made in-house to demonstrate the possibilities of Scion’s full thickness colour technology that colours every fibre in the wood.

The 3D-printed chess pieces are made from biobased plastic composites compounded and printed at Scion.
