Fascination of Plants Day 2019
13 May 2019
Scion is proud to support the fifth international Fascination of Plants Day on 18 May 2019.
Organised by the European Plant Science Organisation, Fascination of Plants Day aims to get as many people as possible around the world fascinated by plants and enthused about the importance of plant science for agriculture and sustainable production of nutritious food, as well as for horticulture, forestry and the production of plant-based non-food products such as paper, timber, chemicals, energy and pharmaceuticals.
Scion’s Chief Innovation and Science Officer, Elspeth MacRae is the New Zealand representative for the European Plant Science Organisation.
In support of the event, Scion has a static display at the Rotorua Library from 13 – 20 May, highlighting some of the fascinating work we are doing with growing and protecting trees, and developing biobased products from wood.
