The war against wild pines received a major boost in the recent budget with the Government announcing $100 million of operating funding the tackle the problem.

Scion scientists have been working on detecting wilding pines in remote and rugged areas. This report on our work appeared in the November 2019 issue of Tree Grower, the magazine of the New Zealand Farm Forestry Association.
